1967 MGB Roadster Mkll (Convertible) Sports Car

The 1967 year is considered among MGB experts to be the “single most desirable model” in the range. featuring an updated engine. full chrome. classic black steel dashboard with rocker switches. front anti-roll bar. backup lights. etc.   The MGB's performance was brisk. aided by the relatively light weight of the car. Handling is and was one of the MGB's strongest points. The MG engines were upgraded in October 1964 to a five-bearing crankshaft improving reliability. Starting in 68. after this model. the US-market gradually started to force de-tuning compliance. causing a marked reduction in performance.    This 67 MGB Roadster up for the offering is the “Real Deal” vintage collectable British sports car to have with all it's power.

Besides being the right year. this is a particularly solid (no rust) and original very well maintained B. always garaged (I'm the third owner).   The interior was restored a few years back including black leather seats with white piping and full black carpet.   The soft top is like new and the car comes with a tonneau cover also.   She is dress in her original paint -Primrose Yellow and painted wire wheels. has nice original patina. The paint is decent. but has few dings/chips. a tiny dent and a small skin crack very common with roadsters (see photos – easily fixed).  I was going to do a re-spray and show the car. but the market has changed and original paint is considered more desirable now. just like with other antiques.   This is a #3+ or 2- car.   But with a bit of body touch up and conditioning or respray and this would be a solid # 2 car and ready for any upscale car show or don't and just drive and enjoy ( She was in a few parades last year and has even had a queen in the passenger seat).   The engine is matching and in great running condition. everything works. has updated ignition and has just been fully serviced for the 2014 season (turn key and go). This is a wonderful unmolested and original surviving 67 MGB with only 69. 44 miles. Not all MGB's are equal.   1967 had the best styling. all best improvements . is the best investment. coolest and fastest year made.

Only 12. 79 1967 roadsters were made for export and probably only a thousand or so survive today? The typical current average auction price for this car is around 15. 00-30. 00. My reserve is set a much lower than that… Really!  So happy bidding and someone is going to get a great car and a real good deal! Gooding and Company auctions just auctioned a similar "restored" 1967 for 37. 00! this March at Amelia Island.    67 MGB's  have gone up 20% in value in the last 6 months. Get one while you still can.   If you know MGBs. you'll see how great this example is.   If you're new to the MG marque. The MGB is one of the most classically designed. practical (25mpg). reliable (easy to service. readily available parts) and fun sports cars of all time.   No wonder they built them for 18 years! And you just found the “best of the breed”!   If you ever wanted a classic MGB. this is the one to have.   Selling to fund a restoration project and because I have too many cars. :-) I reserve the right to cancel the auction at any time. Only serious collectors please. and if you don't have a positive established eBay history. I will cancel your bid.   Con-artist move on.

The MGB is available for inspection anytime. located in South Bend. IN.   Please feel free to contact me.

A bit of history : When introduced in 1962. the MGB featured an all new unibody body shell sharing many styling cues with its Midget sibling. Mechanically an evolution of the MGA it replaced. the MGB was powered by a 1. 98cc B-Series engine rated at 95 bhp and mated to a four-speed manual transmission with synchromesh on the top three gears and an optional overdrive. The independent front suspension used coil springs and lever shock absorbers. while the live rear axle was suspended by leaf springs and lever shocks. Comforts included greater interior and trunk space as well as roll-up windows. Virtually unchanged cosmetically. in 1965 the MGB received a more robust five-main-bearing version of the B-Series engine and was joined by the stylish MGB/GT coupe. which was a Pininfarina-designed mini-grand tourer with a rear hatch. For 1968 MGBs and GTs received an alternator. and an all-synchro gearbox. while American market cars were fitted with an emissions air pump and a padded dashboard. For many years MG sold as many MGBs as they could build. Later models received rubber bumpers. vinyl seats. less HP. pollution controls. etc and are consider much less valuable.
