Offered for sale is a 1995 Rover Mini Sprite rebuilt and restyled in a 1970s Cooper S theme. The original automatic engine and gearbox has been removed and a sound manual engine and gearbox with a pre A+ cylinder head all painted in MOWOG green has been refitted. It was also treated to a Mini Spares aluminium inlet manifold and ITG foam air filter for better performance.
The engine bay was repainted before being furnished with rebuilt clutch master and slave cylinders along with a Goodridge braided clutch hose and repainted brake servo. The steering rack and track rod ends were replaced with new items before a fully rebuilt subframe was fitted. This includes all new rubber bushes. bump stops. rebound buffers. rebuilt top arms. ball joint dust shields. brake hoses. knuckle joints and new subframe mounts. A Mini Spares Cooper S disc conversion was also fitted at this time to allow the use of 10" wheels.
The interior has received attention with the standard Rover dials replaced with a classic 3 clock centre binnacle and vinyl covered A-pillars and dash rail. The plastic Rover steering has been replaced with an aluminium Astrali wheel and matching aluminium interior door handles have also been fitted.
To suit the MK3 Cooper S theme the roof has been painted black and MK2/3 rear lights fitted with new seals. A set of 70s reverse and fog lamps have been fitted on custom made brackets and spot lamps have been fitted to the front using stainless steel brackets. New stainless steel front+rear bumpers. headlamp rims. TEX door mirrors. grille+surround and period Cooper S badges have been fitted. The sealed beam headlights were replaced with modern quadoptic units for better visibility and the bulbous Rover indictors have been replaced with sleeker MK3 items.
Other new additions include refurbished 5x10" Minilight wheels shod with new 165/70/10" Camac tyres. chrome wheel nuts. de-luxe side trim. front+rear screen seals. quarter window seals. chrome wipe blades+arms. chrome washer jets and many other small items.
Over all this car has had almost £2000 spent on new parts and it has really become a lovely little retro Mini. As well as all the new items this Mini has pair of factory fitted inertia reel rear seat belts making it an ideal summer or weekend car for family and friends.  It has MOT until April 24th 2015 and tax until September 30th 2014. Viewing is welcome and please feel free to contact me if you have any question or would like to talk further about the car.
