1971 Morris Traveller 1198cc, great runner, lots of improvements,spares included

1971 Morris Traveller 1198cc - "Josephine"

I purchased this Morris Traveller having seen it at an Historic Vehicle Rally in York. September 2011. The Car has had 5 previous owners from new since 1971. the owner before bought the car in 1996 and used it as his own family vehicle. when his wife died he lost interest in the car and put it up for sale.

Josephine is fabulous to drive and she looks great. she starts on the button is a lovely runner. The teal blue colour is pefectly complimented by the great condition of the woodwork. she really is a pleasure to own and drive.

I have spent a lot of time (and money!) getting Jospehine to a higher standard than when I bought her. and have always used top quality parts and professionals where necessary.

Since I have owned the car. I have carried out various improvements. as follows:

* New nearside inner wing

* Repair to offside inner wing

* New outer undersills on both sides

* New offside boxing panel

* New rear left springs

* I have also changed the suspension rubber bushes to a set of poly brushes in accordance with recommendation. including all new bolts.

* The floor is finished with Hammerite

The underside is good and has been really well undersealed. the wordwork is solid and varnished. She has been garaged and has free tax until Feb 2015 and is MOT'd until Feb 2015 as well. Current mileage is 69. 41.

The car has also got brand new deep blue fitted carpets which really set off the interior. she has new rear tyres and also comes with a huge list of spares as follows:

 - Cylinder head with valves and springs

- Dynamo

 - Fuel Pump

 - Two wheels with tyres!!!

 - Gear box

 - Cables / Gaskets / Hoses / Wheel trims

 - Carburetor

So should you ever need to replace anything. it may well be present in the spares included in the sale!

The body paint is teal blue and on close inspection is not perfect. having some runs and some blistering on bonnet and part of the roof which I have tried to show on the photographs. Other than that. there really is no negatives about Josphine. she is very much loved and we will be sad to see her go. but due to change of circumstances unfortunately she needs a new. loving home!
