Absolutely stunning MGB Roadster convertible for sale.

I have owned and enjoyed this classic car for 10 years having bought it off an ex MGB engineer who had himself owned it for 22 years.

It's a 1968 chrome bumper model and the 67/68 models are widely considered to be the most desirable with their original classic looks and interiors but improved engines and gearboxes. It is road tax free and costs £80 to insure fully comp under an agreed value policy. It is ready to drive. show and enjoy now.

The car has been subject to a money-no-object maintenance. improvement and up-keep schedule. It is used in the summer and only for MGB and classic car runs and shows and the odd Sunday lunch drive. At the end of every season it is serviced by a proper old mechanic and any work needed or just fancied is carried out before putting the car into winter storage. In the past few years alone the following work has been completed.

Complete front suspension and steering component replacement

Complete rear suspension replacement / upgrade with adjustable shocks and parabolic springs with PU bushes

Complete brake system overhaul with new ventilated discs and green performance pads fitted

Last year. a new club refurbished gearbox was fitted because of a slight whine in top gear. While the box and engine were out a complete new clutch and club performance bearing was fitted.

The bodywork is in fantastic condition with smooth straight panels and tight shutlines. A professional rolling chassis repaint was undertaken by Classic Coachworks in 2005 and remains in excellent condition. There is no welding. patching or filler anywhere in this car. The joints were leaded as original from the factory. All brightwork and rubbers were replaced then. The car runs 15inch stainless steel wire wheels with excellent matching Yokahama tyres. The spare is brand new and unused matching wheel and tyre. The boot is painted and carpeted and it is waxoyl around the badge fittings in the picture not rust! The chrome work is excellent and finished with a stainless steel boot rack and badge bar. The hood is in good condition with period grey frame. There is a tonneau cover. club wind deflector and waterproof hood cover with the car.  The engine bay is painted and detailed with recent clutch and brake cylinders fitted. There is some paint flaking from the engine from a leaking heating valve (common issue). I was intending to have it repainted this year.

The engine itself is reliable. strong and quiet. Car has electronic ignition and two 6 volt batteries kept on optimate charger. Starting is first-time even after winter storage. Car is super reliable and a pleasure to drive. Overdrive is fitted and works on 3rd and 4th gears which makes for relaxed crusing.

The interior is also excellent as you would expect. Faultless crackle dashboard. rolltop and correct black leather seats with contrast piping. Stainless wipers and air intakes are fitted along with sunblinds. There is a classic 1966 period Motorola radio fitted and working. Inertia reel seatbelts and a Motorlita leather steering wheel are also fitted. Carpets and door cards etc are immaculate.

I have an extensive pile of receipts. manuals and parts guides for the car. Classic cars in this condition are only going up in value and hold their money well. They are better than money in the bank these days and much more fun. Last agreed value for the car was £12. 00 and I am only selling to make room for a classic 1974 Porsche 911S that is on its way.

I have probably forgotten to mention a lot so email any specific questions and I will respond. The car looks much better in the metal than the pictures and I encourage any serious buyer to come and view and take a test drive.
