In the early 1950s, company ran into financial difficulties - greatly increased the cost of design work and production costs. For this reason the "Kaiser" and "Willys" united and jointly developed a model roadster Kaiser Darrin, first introduced in 1953. It was a two-seater sports car, distinguished by a kind of "anatomical" body design, made of plastic, and sliding doors. Due to lower sales company launched the model in Argentina, where it was called Carabela. In 1955, due to financial problems, the company was forced to sell the factory to Argentina.
