Volkswagen Karmann Ghia it's a sports car coupe, which was produced by the German Volkswagen from 1955 to 1974.
Original Type 14 Karmann Ghia combines the chassis and mechanics from Volkswagen Beetle, designed by Luigi Segre of the Italian office Ghia, and the body of the hand-built by the German company Karmann. The new model Type 34 Karmann Ghia, which appeared in 1961, was based on a new platform Volkswagen Type 3 and had the body of the angular form.
Karmann Ghia was presented at the Paris auto show in October 1953.
Type 14 was released on the market as a practical and stylish 2+2 and not as a true sports car. As these models have the same engines, the volume of the Type 14 grew simultaneously with the Type 1 (Beetle), and ultimately reached 1584 CC, with a capacity of 60 HP. (45 kW).
